Lord Baden-Powell appears to have been the instigator of this book; it seems probable that scoutmaster Harold Curwen (see Simon 1973 p.115) and Capt. Philipps knew each other; this book was published at Roland House, named in honour of captain Philipps, which was later sold by the Scout movement in 1963.
