Caslon with 3-line dropped initials; halftone illustration on insert; 53 line block illustrations each description with 'half-title' on un-numbered recto, text on verso, line-block on un-numbered recto, then any run-over of text on numbered pages following; thus almost all rectos are un-numbered, and most versos bear numbers; casing, red cloth, spine gold-blocked: ‘[triple rule, twice] THE CHURCHES OF THE CITY OF LONDON HERBERT REYNOLDS THE BODLEY HEAD [triple rule, twice]’, upper cover blocked blind with ruled frame.
