Technical description

Royal 4o: top edge only trimmed and coloured blue-grey, 12½" × 9⅝", white wove, VGZ Holland; 14pt. Riccardi lent by Medici Society and hand-set; type specimens in many different faces, some set abroad, Merrymount (p.23) is reproduced by line block; casing, spine black buckram, gold-blocked across foot: ‘MEDICI | SOCIETY’ and near head of spine upwards: ‘ON TYPE FACES — MORISON’, boards in marbled paper, light and dark blue and some pink, upper cover bears label of puce laid paper: ‘ON TYPE FACES | STANLEY MORISON
