Technical description

Royal 8o: 10⅜" × 6¾", top edge only trimmed, white laid, J W Zanders; 11(+3)pt. Imprint; line blocks, on all rectos from E3 to S2 a bookplate is tipped on, that on the insert is numbered 0 and signed in pencil by Craig; a note on E3r says that plate 0 was hand-printed from the wood; casing, red buckram, gold-blocked on spine: ‘NOTHING | or | THE BOOK | PLATE | by | EDWARD | GORDON CRAIG | CHATTO & | WINDUS | LONDON’, and on upper cover: ‘[an oval book-plate of Craig's] | NOTHING | or | THE BOOKPLATE’.
