Technical description

Demy 8o: 11¼" × 8¾", top edge only trimmed and gilt, white laid, no mark; 14pt. Garamond; colour collotypes on loaded paper pasted onto laid leaves of inserts, each protected by tissue leaf bearing caption in red; casing, white buckram, 2 blue leather spine labels gold-blocked, upper: ‘[within double-rule frame] THE | ODYSSEY | OF | HOMER’, and at foot the second label: ‘[within double-rule frame] MEDICI SOCIETY’.
