Demy 8o: 8 ¾" × 5 ⅝", top edge only trimmed and gilt, artificial headband, white laid, Ellerslie; 12pt. Caslon with dropped initials in red on B1r, H2r; casing spine buff cloth gold-blocked: ‘THE | PROPHET'S | COUSIN | * | NICOLAS | FROMAGET | CHAPMAN | & HALL’, boards in white laid paper with black yellow and blue pattern Kzb no.12; dust-jacket of same paper with pen-and-ink label over spine and printed label over upper cover.
