Crown 8o: 11½" × 7 ⅛", uncut, white laid, J W Zanders + unicorn; 14(+7)pt. Koch Kursiv; 23 engraved plates, including 18 hand coloured; casing, spine white buckram gold-blocked: ‘[stylised end view of an upturned boat ]’ lettering down spine: ‘SAILING SHIPS [block as before but boat rightway up,]’, boards orange cloth, upper cover gold-blocked with line block design of sextant and ship's lamp; slip case in blue with printed label.
