Garamond with ligatures, 4-line decorative initials by Bliss to each of the 3 stories; black and white line blocks on pp.2, 9, 19, 37, 45, 97, 101, 108 171, 192, with hand-coloured stencilling in various colours on 16 leaves: pp.13, 25, 30, 60, 68, 71, 78, 86, 113, 118, 126, 135, 143, 162, 182, 187; casing, spine maroon cloth, gold-blocked: ‘The | SPANISH | LADIE and two | other stories from | CERVANTES | [flower] | Translated by | MABBE | 1640 | [and at foot] 1928 | OXFORD’; boards grey laid paper, upper cover blocked in maroon with design from p.68.
