Technical description

Small Crown 4o: 9" × 6½", described by Simon (1973) p.248 as 'Narrow Crown', trimmed, top edge gilt, artificial head- and tail-bands, white wove, P.M.P; 12(+2)pt. Baskerville; line block illustrations, that on [A]2r hand-stencilled with a red-brown wash; casing, buff buckram gold-blocked on spine: ‘A | BRIEF | HISTORY | OF | MOSCOVIA | 1929’, and on upper cover: ‘A BRIEF HISTORY | OF MOSCOVIA | By JOHN MILTON | THE BLACKAMORE PRESS | 1929’.
