Technical description

Demy 8o: 8½" × 5½", trimmed, top edge yellow,white laid, no mark; 12pt. Bembo; casing, dull yellow buckram, spine gold-blocked from head to foot with pattern, leaving 2 panels with lettering across, upper: ‘QUEENEY | LETTERS’, and lower panel near foot: ‘CASSELL’; printed dust-jacket.

Note

Miss Hester Maria Thrale's nickname was Queeney; she was one of the daughters of Mrs Hester Thrale-Piozzi.
