Crown 8o: 7" × 4¾", trimmed, white wove, no mark, [D] of thicker white wove, no mark; 10(+1)pt. Baskerville, 9(+1)pt. Baskerville; 16 colour halftone illustrations in [D]; casing, white paper with repeated design in olive-green brown and black, and on upper cover integral panel 1½" × 2¼" printed: ‘[within black and brown border] EDIBLE FUNGI by John Ramsbottom’, similarly up spine, a panel 2¼" × ¼": ‘[within a ruled border] EDIBLE FUNGI’, and near foot of spine the Penguin mark with the number K 13 below it.
The King Penguin serial no, K13 seems to have been replaced at some point by K14; a revision dated 1948 exists.
