Notes

It appears, from p.vii line 25, that G. Humphris of Morrison and Gibb set the Hebrew for the Dedication; for later editions of this book see ZLc, ZKj. The Dedication above appears in this 1945 edition only. See Lyttelton 1979 vol.5 p.vii.

A new edition was printed in 1963 in 'Faber paper-covered editions' edited by David Bland, pages xii, 164; this lacks the Dedication given above, and is copyright 1963 by Mrs. Ruth Simon. T.p. as 1945 but without the date.
