Baskerville; collotype illustrations on wove inserts, line block on first insert after [A]1; casing, blue buckram, spine gold-blocked: ‘[flowers and double fillet] THE HISTORY OF Johnson and Phillips COLLIN BROOKS [double fillet + flowers]’, upper cover gold-blocked with Johnson & Phillips circular trade mark 2¼" diameter; printed dust-jacket.
Johnson and Phillips traded as electrical engineers and cable makers.
B.L. copy bound on 5 bands in red calf by Sangorski and Sutcliffe, with signatures of Chairman, Joint Managing Director, and 6 members of the Board on a leaf before the t.p.; possibly copies with this leather binding were made for presentation to senior staff.
