[6] 5-11 [+3].
7½" × 4¾", trimmed, white wove, no mark; 12(+1)pt. Baskerville; 1 collotype portrait; wrappers, pale blue paper, attached by turn-ins to a blank outer pair of heavier card; upper wrapper printed: ‘[within a 2-rule border 2¾" × 1¾"] HAROLD SPEDDING CURWEN [bowl of fruit]’.
Not in 1963 handlist or in Curwen Library; drawn to my attention by Douglas Ball.
The first appreciation, signed on p.10, H.S., is probably by Herbert Simon; the second by Sir Francis Meynell states that it is reprinted from The Times.
Harold Curwen, born 16 November 1885, a director of the company from 1908, retired at the end of 1939 for reasons of health, and died 6 May 1949.
