Foolscap 8o: 6¾"×4", trimmed, white wove, no mark; 10pt. Times; line block illustrations; casing, spine brown-red buckram, gold-blocked down: ‘VISITOR'S LONDON’, boards in patterned paper, yellow red and blue-grey, with printed label on upper cover: ‘[within ruled border] VISITOR'S LONDON’; on the inside of the lower board a booklet of 1 section, 6"×3½", entitled ‘HOW TO GET THERE’ is held in a pocket made of the same coloured paper as the endleaves; to balance its bulk section I is followed by 2 sections of 4 double guards each, sewn along with the ordinary sections; the endleaves in the copy here described have a pattern in mauve of the London Transport wheel and bar logo; another copy with no shelfmark has a red and black pattern commemorating the International Railway Congress, London, 1954.
B.L. copy has been rebound; tourism to London may also have been boosted following the Coronation 2/Jun/1953 of Queen Elizabeth II.
