Technical description

Demy 8o: 8 ¾" × 5 ⅝", top edge only trimmed and gilt, artificial headband, white laid, Ellerslie above a unicorn on a scroll; 14pt. Garamond; line block decorations in red on [A]3r and B3r; casing, spine buff cloth gold-blocked: ‘THE | FAIRY | DOLL | * | JEAN-GALLI | DE BIBIENA | CHAPMAN | & HALL’, boards in patterned paper Kzb no.12; dust-jacket of same paper with printed label above upper cover and pen-and-ink label over spine.
