Technical description

Crown 4o: 10" × 7 ½", top edge only trimmed, white wove, no mark; 14pt. Baskerville; 28 collotype illustrations; No copy traced in publisher's casing as issued: probably similar to Ira but boards not bevelled.

Note that t.p. and imprint are on an insert, presumably owing to its relationship with the special edition Ira; B.L. copy examined was numbered 183; stamped 27/Jan/1947 in red indicating purchase, not legal deposit.

Baskerville; 28 collotype illustrations, type and illustrations as Ir; casing, blue buckram on bevelled boards, gold-blocked on spine: ‘PASTICHE | * | CLOUD | and | KAPP | Faber & | Gwyer,’ and on upper cover: ‘PASTICHE | A Music-Room Book | By Yvonne Cloud | and Edmond X. Kapp

Notes

Sterling Library copy was numbered 237; from the library of Sir Louis Sterling.

Yvonne Cloud was the wife of E. X. Kapp, the other author, and for this publication adopted the surname Cloud ; some of its drawings are signed or annotated by their subjects; it has an additional drawing in envelope on back pastedown.
