The collection catalogued in Na was amassed by W. I. Morse, and given to Acadia University in 1931; on Morse see an article by Susan Hilles Bush 1996, The book disease : Atlantic Provinces book collectors, ed. Eric L Swanick, Halifax, NS, 1996, chapter 3, pp.33-70, in an occasional paper published by Dalhousie University.
Curwen Works note dated 20/Oct/1931 states that their client for this job was W B Dalton; William B. Dalton was head of the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, in London, England. I suggest that Morse probably commissioned Dalton to arrange the printing of this catalogue on his behalf. Bush describes Dalton as 'an accomplished potter as well as a watercolourist; the most influential artist in Morse's life'. He also donated a bronze plaque to the collection (see collotype on insert in [A] facing t.p.) in 1926, re-made 1930.
I am indebted to Patricia Townsend, University Archivist, of Acadia University Library, for the reference to S B Hilles Bush, and also for a copy of the article and the catalogue.
