Notes

At foot of leaf 2H6r is a blind embossed stamp incorporating the words: ‘THIS IS ONE OF 15 PRESENTATION COPIES | "OUT OF SERIES"’; I believe this stamp belonged to the Limited Editions Club, New York, and was applied to the volumes now in the British Library, and possibly to others.

Presumably volumes I and III also had a tissue wrapper to start with.

Uf1Uf2 and Uf3 together fit into a slip case covered in dark red paper, with white paper label 6" × 3½", printed red as the spine labels, but without volume number.
